The Benefit CD is a compilation of songs that were donated by 16 different artists to show their support of the HMP. Their words and music point to a God who has love for his people and whose message of rescue reaches beyond cultures and generations. Seth Gehrke

"Found My Love Again" written by Seth Gehrke , c2005 Excerpts album, www.thouexcerpts.com. All rights reserved. Used by Permission.

"Found My Love Again" is about finding the love and hope inside oneself that was created and then nurtured by the Holy Spirit. Sometimes the struggles and temptations of the world lead us away from where true happiness lies, which is deep within a living heart of love for God, others, and yourself.

Beth Gearhart

"Sailor" written by Beth Gearhart , c2005 100 White Flags album, www.girlwithguitar.com. All rights reserved. Used by Permission.

We are all put here by the same Creator. We are all given different circumstances and different responsibilities by that Creator. Whatever those circumstances and responsibilities may be, I know that with Jesus in our lives today, we all have the same great treasure to look forward to when we finally get to go home. This is what "Sailor" is all about and this is the reason why I am happy to be apart of and support the HMP.

LOST AND FOUND

"Remember" written by Michael Bridges and George Baum, c2002 LOST AND FOUND and LIMB RECORDS (ASCAP, CCLI), www.speedwood.com. All rights reserved. Used by Permission.

"Based on God's faithfulness throughout the ages, we are made bold to be unafraid, even in the toughest of times and the most difficult of circumstances. In this song, we recall acts of creativity, faith, rescue and redemption from the Garden to Sinai, from wilderness to promised land, from prophecy to fulfillment. As such, we are reminded that, on this basis, we have reason for hope and for freedom from fear. Despite discouraging conditions, the grace and power of God are present in this moment, just as God has been present through the ages. Lost And Found, www.speedwood.com

Daniel's Window

"You Reign" by Daniel's Window written by Bill Coleman, c2005 Strangely Looking Forward album, www.danielswindow.com. All rights reserved. Used by Permission

Daniel's Window believes in HMP because God calls us all to help the poor, hungry, and spiritually deprived. We have sponsored a little girl, Herthnise Pierre, from Haiti through World Vision for the past 5 years. May God bless the HMP!

Jonathan Rundman

"Librarian (Live in Minneapolis )" written by Jonathan Rundman , c2004 Salt Lady Records Live in Minneapolis album, www.jonathanrundman.com. All rights reserved. Used by Permission

I'm pleased to offer this exclusive live recording of my song "Librarian" for the HMP CD. As the song describes, reading and literacy lead to empowerment, and can also be a major factor in faith development. It's exciting to know that the proceeds from this benefit album will help to bring education and books to the young people in Port Au' Prince.

Jacob's Road

"I choose Trust" by Jacob's Road written by Robey/Robey/Mizell/Ingram, c2003 The Journey album, www.jacobsroad.com. All rights reserved. Used by Permission.

We wrote this song one day when Carrie was really angry with God. Her big brother got very sick, and she didn't think it was fair. After asking all the hard questions and having a major temper tantrum, God led her to one singular conclusion: None of it matters. Real peace sometimes comes from just letting go, and choosing to trust in God's perfect love for His kids. In John 16:33, Jesus gives us the answer: "I've told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I've conquered the world!" When things happen that we don't understand in this world; remember that scripture. We will have trouble, and I'm so sorry. But the good news is that Jesus has already overcome it all. Praise God!

Cathy Pino

"Servants Prayer" by Fat and Happy written by Cathy Pino, c1997 Sunday Every Day album, cathyP19@juno.com. All rights reserved. Used by Permission

It's an honor to be part of this recording in support of the HMP! The song, "Servants Prayer" is based on various verses in Hebrews, especially Hebrews 12:1-3. I hope that all who hear these songs would be inspired to respond wherever they are – Haiti , the U.S. , at work, at school, at home, everywhere! – to God's great love by surrendering to God's embrace, rejoicing in the Good News, and serving God with every fiber of their being.

Brian Spahr

"Jesus Lives" written by Brian Spahr , c2004 LivingRoomTunes album, www.livingroomtunes.com. All rights reserved. Used by Permission.

What an honor to be part of this project1 We are called as followers of Christ to live our lives as a reflection of the free gift of grace that we have received and throughout scripture we can see that this is often done by reaching out to those who are poor, oppressed, and marginalized. The gospel…the good news of God's unfailing love is FOR ALL! God's blessings to the HMP as you become the hands and feet of Jesus.

Elizabeth Hunnicutt

"Drinking You Deep" written by Elizabeth Hunnicutt, c2005 Finding Me Here album, www.elizabethhunnicutt.com. All rights reserved. Used by Permission.

We are all in need of God. I know that I often go through stressful, difficult times where I'm feeling weary of life. It's in these times that I desperately need refreshment and need my soul to be nourished. God is the only true source of life and when we go to Him and ask for living water, He fills our souls. He satisfies us in a way that nothing on this earth ever will. We need to run to Him and Him alone, for He is faithful to walk with us and meet our every need-especially our need for Him.

Agape

"All are Welcome" by Agape written by David Scherer, c2002 Many Rooms album, www.hiphopoutreach.com. All rights reserved. Used by Permission.

I chose to be a part of this project because of the convicting words of Micah to "Do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with our God." These words echoed in my heart as I was able to see the poverty of Haiti first hand my junior year of college. I will never forget the people I met and the conditions I witnessed. I chose the song "All are welcome" because it is a reminder to all of us to open our eyes to the fullness of God's kingdom. This will happen when we realize that God's kingdom extends far past our block to ALL people. When we are able to see Haiti as essential to the fullness of God's kingdom, then we become transformed and God's vision becomes reality.

Paul Tietjen

"All" written by Paul Tietjen, c2002 Live at Concordia album, www.paultietjen.com. All rights reserved. Used by Permission.

Fuller Still

"Compared to No One" by Fuller Still written by Josh Brecht, c2006 Color and Feeling album, www.fullerstill.com. All rights reserved. Used by Permission.

This is a song about humility. In order to serve others the way Jesus served us, we need to be able to truly, humbly love them, no matter what their tribe, culture, or tongue might be. This means we don't serve them to make ourselves feel better, or to get admiration from our friends, or even so God will like us more…true love and servant hood comes from seeing the people we meet as our equals, as Christ died for all of us. "Compared to No One" talks about experiences we've had where Christ has opened our eyes to see that we're not better than anyone else, but loved exactly the same. That kind of mindset opens our hearts up to truly serve. It's our prayer that everyone involved in HMP would be able to serve and be served by the people they meet.

Lloyd Garrelts

"As Real as Sunshine" written by Lloyd Garrelts , c2005 Grace Equation album, www.llyodgarrelts.com. All rights reserved. Used by Permission.

God's grace is as real as the Sun we see outside. The story of God's grace has been told for thousands of years, and we are part of that story. Our chapter in the greatest story ever shared is still being written, and carried by God's people to all parts of the world.
