Haiti Mission Project has received over $35,000 in generous donations since the earthquake. Thank you to everyone who has joined us at our earthquake relief fundraisers in Minnesota and Illinois. Thanks also to those who have donated online, through the mail, and through their churches. We are humbled by your generosity and exited to partner with you in this effort! We have already begun putting your donations to work, dispersing over $14,000 to immediate relief! Check out www.heartlineministries.org to see how some your donated funds have helped the immediate medical care for those suffering with injuries and illness in the aftermath of the earthquake. Other monies have been given directly Haitians we know who were personally affected by the earthquake (through one of our board members who was in Port-au-Prince in January) and we will also be supporting a medical team from Minnesota who will be going to Haiti in late February.

The Haiti Mission Project can report that all of our contacts that we work with in Haiti are alive and well. Some family members of cooks and staff are not as fortunate, so please pray for comfort and healing for all those who have lost loved ones. We can also report that though the guesthouse where we stay has been destroyed, the orphanges we work with, Notre Masion and St. Joe's Creche are standing but suffered some damage. The extent of damage is not yet known. We can also report that the Lilivous compound (orphanage, clinic and food storage) where we have been working for the past five years is still standing but suffered some structural damage (see the pictures below). Please continue to pray as relief efforts continue.

We have friends in Haiti working around the clock providing food, water, shelter and medical care. They have put together this shirt to help support their ministry: www.helphaitishirt.com.This is also where our friend and fellow board member Joanna is working right now.

(The pictures below are of the orphanage in Lilivous we have been helping build for the past several years. It was dedicated on January 10, 2010 - just two days before the earthquake - and the children were scheduled to move in soon. As you can see, the damage was minimal but there are some repairs needed, and we're hopeful that it will still become home to children soon.)
